Belgian horse sector heads to Dubai World Expo with support from PaardenPunt Vlaanderen.

After last summer's top performances, the point has been made: the Belgian equine sector is world class. But not only our riders and horses deliver fantastic performances. The companies that frame the sector also excel in their field. The company network Belgian Equestrian Quality wants to put them more in the spotlight worldwide and found a strong partner in PaardenPunt Vlaanderen. First international stop: the World Expo in Dubai.

Who wants to be successful must look to Belgium

Our Olympic and Paralympic riders bring home bronze and gold medals, the Swedish show jumping team achieves Olympic gold with exclusively Belgian horses, at the European Championships our show jumping riders and our drivers both win the bronze medal, our Arabian horses steal the most prestigious prizes in the Emirates ... The successes keep piling up.

The eyes of the world are on equestrian Belgium: on our horses and athletes. But the companies that frame the sector also have a wealth of expertise and excel in their field. All over the world, you can find Belgian tracks, feeds, care products, accommodations, construction projects, fences, stable doors, obstacles, veterinarians, transporters, ICT applications, ... In the broad equestrian world, Belgium has become a quality label.

Belgian Equestrian Quality, powered by Agoria

Technology federation Agoria has been convinced of the potential of the Belgian equestrian sector for years. In 2017, the organization founded the business cluster Belgian Equestrian Quality (BEQ). This unites top equestrian companies, opens international doors for them and puts both members and the entire horse sector in the global spotlight. The results of this were already visible during the Games in Tokyo, according to Diego Algaba, manager of the club: "During the Olympic Games in Tokyo our members not only supported many international competitors, but also provided services and material to the Games themselves. By uniting ourselves, we can offer a global offer and we are stronger."

PaardenPunt Vlaanderen

PaardenPunt Vlaanderen, as the umbrella association of the Flemish horse sector, also supports this set-up. It found in BEQ a powerful partner to further promote the commercial interests of the horse sector. Chairman Frank Gasthuys: "With the wonderful results of our athletes and the successes of our companies, our sector has clear momentum at the moment. We must make maximum use of this. Together with Agoria, we will further develop the cluster and strengthen the international promotion of our sector."

World Expo in Dubai 

This week Belgian Equestrian Quality together with PaardenPunt Vlaanderen signed up for the World Championships for young show jumpers at Domein Zangersheide, an absolute top event that annually attracts athletes and investors from all over the world to our country. The next initiative on the agenda is Expo 2020 Dubai. This world expo can easily be regarded as one of the most prestigious international mega-events. And during the Flemish week (23 to 28 October) our horse sector will play a leading role. The members will further promote our sector and make new contacts. The highlight of the mission is a high level event about the expertise of the Flemish horse sector in terms of breeding, sport and technology.
